Special Occasions offers many products for your event and wedding: napkins, chairs, and table linens are just a few to name. They have over 300 DIFFERENT STYLES of napkins alone! When they shared this with me, I was blown away. Of course, it makes sense to have a huge inventory for all the different type of events and weddings, but I would’ve never thought there would be that many. It’d be nearly impossible to not find the perfect decor for your event!
Owners, Keri and Jamie both started as event professionals in the Grand Rapids area. Jamie had heard that the previous owners of Special Occasions were looking to move on and retire. At that time Special Occasions had three locations and they were all different businesses. Jamie sought to merge all three. With this kind of undertaking, she knew that she couldn’t do this alone.
They hadn’t spoken in some time, but out of the blue Keri reached out to Jamie to see how she was doing. This was a sign. Jamie presented Keri with the idea of buying all Special Occasions locations and merging them. Keri was all aboard. From there, they began the process of purchasing these businesses. It took about two years for them to get through the buying and merging of them- they officially became the owners July 1st, 2019.
The starting point for design conception is dependent on what the client is looking for and where they are in their planning process. Both Jamie and Keri are experienced in the event planning industry-- they have worked with many different vendors and venues and with that knowledge they are able to offer their clients advice on certain logistics. All of the products offered at Special Occasions come a la carte. If you’re on a budget, but want to find some ways to spruce up your event or wedding, Jamie and Keri are able to help. With their background and design eye they can offer advice on simple ways to enhance your wedding or event. Don’t just think you need to be throwing a big party or getting married to utilize their services-- they have repeat clients who come to them and rent table linens and napkins for a holiday dinner or small party. Special Occasions handles all the washing and pressing of linens, so you don’t have to.
Pull together your event by adding a pinch of color with napkins, using floor length table linens, and splurge on some nicer fabric for the tables that will be in photos.
