The most underrated moments are the best to capture on film

There is so much happening on wedding day-- Hair, makeup, dress, ceremony, first dances, speeches, conversing with guests. It’s a LOT!

The day is filled with so many moments and moments in-between those moments… it’s critical to trust your videographer or photographer. What I’ve learned from my years of capturing weddings is the moments that are often the most special, the most intimate, are the ones where you’re lost in the moment with your partner, family, and friends. These are the most beautiful to capture! Here are a few of my favorites:

The First Look. What makes this moment so pure and beautiful is that the couple aren’t paying attention to anyone else around them. When they see each other for the first time on this busy day their only focus is on each other. This is when people are most vulnerable and relaxed! They aren’t overthinking—they are simply in the moment. I LOVE IT!

Father/Daughter/Child First Look. Similar to the couple’s first look this one is just as sentimental and raw. This is a beautiful moment because the father is giving his child away, and he is now trusting their partner to protect and take care of them like he’s done their entire life. It’s emotional seeing the connection between a father and his child and thinking about how this day marks the next step in their relationship.

When your bridesmaids see you in your wedding dress. What better way to pump a girl up then seeing their bridesmaid’s reactions when they see you in your wedding dress for the first time! These are your closest friends and to see their excitement, and emotions pour out in this moment makes for a great photo opp!

These rare moments in time all involve no one paying attention to the camera. Everyone is so in the moment; so present with the people around them.  Those rare moments are so precious, and I love being able to capture them on film for my clients to remember for years to come.
