Getting turned down from a job is OKAY

I want to talk about rejection. It feels like shit when you get rejected from a job, especially when you’re so excited about it. No one wants to get turned down, but I try and look at it as a learning opportunity. I’ve been rejected by jobs. It always seems like the worst to get rejected but I think it pushes us as humans. I recently got rejected from a pretty exciting video opportunity—I was down about it because it made me sad, and I wasn’t sure why it had happened. After I’ve allowed myself the necessary time to feel sad about it, I took that energy and channeled it to grow and improve upon my skill. To this day I don’t know why I didn’t get the job, but it doesn’t matter. What matters is knowing that you are STILL AMAZING but that opportunity just wasn’t right. There will be more opportunities and more rejections. That’s just life. Don’t let rejection defeat you. Let it teach you and motivate you to grow in your craft. I know that some of this is easier said than done. Trust me. I take these things personally and get very upset by it sometimes. That’s all normal but again DONT LET IT STOP YOU. Keep going!
